MANAIA.

ANZAC DAY. The meeting held last evening in Alanain town hall, for the purpose of arranging a programme for Anzac Day, was fairly well attended. Representatives of the various churches were present, also citizens and returned .soldiers. All*. N. C. Innes, chairman of the Town Board, presided. The following were appointed a committee to draw up a programme : Rev. C. AY Solomon, Rev. H. C. Orchard, Rev. R. Miller, Air. N. C. Innis, and Mr Robertson. It was resolved to ask the Alannia Alunicipal Brass Band to provide the music for the ceremony. The Boy Scouts, Girl Guidon, and the school children are to be asked to take part in the procession, also all returned soldiers. Lieutenant Ilastie intimated that the territorials would parade and be present at the ceremony. The procession is to leave the fire brigade station at 2 p.m. It was also decided to. ask the chairmen of the local bodies, also Aliss Alitehcll, chairwoman of the Ladies’ Patriotic Committee, to he present. The first part of the ceremony null take place in the town hall and will finish in the Octagon. PERSONAL.
Air. and Afrs. J. L. Forsyth, of Morrinsville, who have been guests ot the Rev. H. C. and (Mrs. Orchard, ol Manaia, returned north yesterday. They spoke very highly of Taranaki and of the hospitality extended to them bv the many friends they met in Alanaia and district.
