Costing £2OOO, Fielding’s new football ground on Johnson Park was officially opened to-day by the Mayor (Mr. E. Fair). The grounds are perfectly equipped, a big grandstand being n feature. Mr. Collins, president of the Fielding Football Club, who is chiefly responsible for securing the grounds, received a presentation from supporters of local Rugby. Two senior games were played. HuiaNai (Manukau) defeated Feilding by 13 points to 11. while Wanganui Old Bovs defeated Feilding Old Boys bv 19 to ‘l3.
