The “Giornalc D ’ltalia ” asserts that aiionvinous warning given the previous day' that anarchists planned the Milan plot accounted for a change in the King’s pains. A careful vigil did not prevent the secretion of the bomb. The police have rounded up a number of suspects and also have arrested n woman whom they believe will reveal an important plot,iSignor Mussolini lias ordered'flowers to be laid on the graves of the “ victims of bestial criminality, impotent barbaric anti-Faseism. ’ ’ He added: “But the enemy shall not prevail.” A number of those injured are reported to be dying. The original victims include six soldiers, four children, and two nuns. Already a million lire have been subscribed on behalf of the victims’ dependants. The business places and schools were closed and the streets were beflagged all over the city in honour of King Victor’s return. Dense crowds lined the route to the palace. Patriotic associations bearing banners mustered in full strength. A fervid demonstration of loyalty compelled the King and Queen to appear repeatedly on the balcony. The arrest is reported from Como of a man believed to be the perpetrator of the bomb outrage.
