(By “Limited.”) A heavy wind blowing and the tracks dry and fast were the conditions under which training operations were carired out this morning. The horses engaged at Palmerston were out performing useful tasks. C. Jackson was first to work, and gave Vivo a gallop over seven furlongs, which the chestnut mare performed in 1.31-1, funning her first three furlongs in 40see and the last half-mile in ollsec. Partaga is not engaged at Palmerston, and was given .pace work only. Be vizor a, who would relish the ground with a little less- sting in it, dashed over three furlongs in 36sec. J. Brown’s team, Orazone, Bisox, Silver Rule and Silvermine, were all allotted pace work. Silver Rule galloped four furlongs yesterday morning, finishing in front of Black Odin, in f>osee. Silvermine has shaped rather disappointingly in his races of late, and Trainer Brown would like the tracks a. bit softer for the little fellow. He will probably accompany Silver Rule to Palmerston. J. Fryer sent Mendip and Wthysogne six furlongs, which they accomplished in good style in 1.18, finishing together. Whysogne has shown great aptitude in his schooling efforts over hurdles, and will probably start in the jumping event on the second day at Palme i*.ston.

Land Rent, by herself, galloped half a mile in 53seo. vSo far this Acre mare has not shown anything like the speed she was credited with having. Pa itonu and Oreadesi set out from the seven furlong post, running to the half-mile in 51see, five furlongs in 1.4, with Paitonu well in front at the finish of the gallop in 1.321. Pnitomi is another that prefers the going softer than it is at present. Airtight is looking all right, and was given useful pace work. - E. Ingram gave his pair, Ranee and Alan Brae, strong work. Lady Desmond lightened up a little through, her trip to Christchurch and will not be taken to Palmerston. Her next mission will he the Hawke’s Bay Cup at the end of the month. O. Cox is taking the two-vear-old Kaka down and will give him his initial inn in the Cloverly Handicap on Thursday.

Lady Cavendish has been turned out indefinitely" at her owner’s station at Kai Iwi.
