SCHOOL DESTROYED.
FIRE AT EKETAHUNA

Fire totally destroyed the Eketaliuna District High School, consisting of five classrooms and a .science room, with the contents, including all school records, valuable curios and books belonging to the headmaster. At 8.30 this evening it was discovered the fire was right through the interior of the. building and tiie brigade could do nothing but save an adjoining shelter shed. The origin of the fire is a complete mystery but it is believed that it originated in the science room. When the headmaster left at 5.30 everything appeared quite safe. The caretaker was there later. The secondary building some distant away is intact. The amount of the insurance is not ascertainable. Tho building was erected in 1913 and was a substantial strucinro.
