The Colonial Secretary has selected Blent. -Colonel Sir H. C. McoThou.se as a commissioner to proceed to the British Solomon Islands Protectorate to inquire into and report upon the circumstances in which murderous attacks' took place on a Government official at Verakone. on Guadnlcanar Island, in February. 1927, and at Sinarango, on Malaita Island, in October, 1927. Tobacco imported into Groat Britain from the Dominions overseas has increased from 15,953,3591 bin 1925 to 33,958,1591 bin 1927. One company is now engaged in marketing, nothing but Empire tobacco.
