The Leviathan has been docked, battered and damaged by a vast wave which struck her in mid-ocean and smashed a searchlight on the forward deck, 85 feet above the water. It -sinas ed the lifeboats, bent the ventilations and iron top of the companion way. Tons of water entered the forward part of the vessel, necessitating the removal of some of the third-class passengers.
