OPERA HOUSE, TO-NIGHT. & ‘ 1 THE AGE OP HEARTS. ’ ’ Hoot Gibson, regarded by many as the most popular roughridin-g screen star in the profession to-day, 'has been provided with a hew picture that is ilia greatest hit. It is “A Trick of Hearts,” the Universal picture which will be screened at the Opera House to-night for the last time. The film is a humourous drama with many thrilling iitcidents built around a clever romance. It is a type of offerlug that is almost certain to make a hit with every kind of audience. The company supporting Hoot 'Gibson in the stellar role is particularly noteworthy. It contains players who have not only reached fame on the screen, but have also achieved prominence on the legitimate stage. There is an excellent supporting programme to the “Ace of Hearts,” which includes a clever comedy ‘ ‘Buster Gome On,” and an International and British News Reel.

‘‘THE FLAG LIEUTENANT.”
Their Majesties the King and Queen have been seldom known to visit the cinema. It is true that special screenings' have been done at the various Royal Palaces, but when the British picture, ‘‘The Flight Lieutenant,” was screened in London Their Majesties saw the picture, not once, but several times, as have other members' of the B-oyal family. s The people of Hawera now have an opportunity of seeing this great- picture at the Opera House. Released through Paramount, Henry .Edwards and Dorothy’ Seacombe play the leading roles. “The Flag' Lieutenant” has the honour of being the first British picture to be screened at either the palatial Prince Edward or the Capitol Theatres in Syndey and Melbourne respectively. This great picture, from the celebrated stage play of the same name, was produced with the co-opera-tion of the British Admiralty, and will commence screening to-morrow night. Not only is there an Australian in the featured cast of “The Flag Lieutenant,” in the person of Dorothy Seacombe, hut the battleship which forms a background for most of the action of the picture is also closely associated with Australia. This ship is the H.GVI.S. Tiger, which at the time of the greatwar was a companion ship of "ho H.M.A.S. Australia.
