The Lower House of Convocation of Canterbury endorsed the Prayer Book by 126 to 481, as compared with 168 votes to 22 last year. The Lower House of Convocation of York endorsed it by 50 'to 18, a«. compared with 68 votes to 10 last year. Former supporters who now opposed it protested against changes concerning tire reservation of fasting and powers of the parochial councils. They also protested against the convocation allowing itself to be influenced by the House of Commons. When supporters of the Book urged the: wisdom, of makin the pro-Book majorities the largest [ossible in view of improving the prospects of the Book passing the House of Commons, adversaries replied that no attention should be paid to what rnay happen in Parliament. Pro-Boole 'speakers -said that they viewed with alarm the effect upon the House of Commons if the majorities within the Convocation diminished. The Book now goes to the National Church Assembly for final approval lrefcire submission to Parliament. —A.P.A. and ‘‘Sun.’
