THE SECTION AT WINTER. SHOW. EX ECUTIV E MEET IN C. Mart.ter s dealing with tlie honey, industry' aii-d specially' with the Winter Show in Hawpra in June were considered at a meeting yesterday ox tne Tairana'ki association's executive 1 , Messrs H. a*. Penny (chairman), A. G. Craig, A. R. Bates, H. E. Lloyd and K. J. bi. NiohoLas, with Messrs D.. Robinson (Government Instructor for M*anawatu) and L. 0. Hooker, manager of the show, being lire sent. It was resolved, at the suggestion of the show manager, to make a new section this vear, which will include nine classes, and this was approved. The Department of Agriculture will be asked to provide a judge for the section. In order to inorease interest, it was decided .to ask support from some of the larger firms, in the form of special prizes, to supplement the show prizes. A special donation was received from the Taranaki Beekeepers’ Association. An interesting feature suggested by the manager will be a comprehensive display of all honey interests throughout the Dominion, including the Department. the Beekeepers’ Association, and the Marekting Board in connection with advertising Dominion products. Observation hives will be disp’ayed at the show, the arrange men t s for the association to be made by' Messrs Penny, Bates, Nicholas and; Lloyd. Tho matter of entertainment of delegates to the National Beekeepers’ conference concurrently with the Winter Show was left for the /time being, for it w* considered that local interest's would take an important part, in the question. It was expected that about 100 deelgates from all parts would l>e present and a suggestion was made to have a .trip do Dawson Fal\s. It is understood that owing to the indisposition of Mr A. Eoroyd, Mr John Rerrtoul. chairman c;f the Honey Export Control- Board., would' act as (secretary to the. conference. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded fhtT meeting.
