OHANGAI CLUB. MEMBERS’ ANNUAL MEETING. Thr: annual meeting of the Ohangai Rugby Football Club attracted an attendance of 35 to the Ohangai Hall last evening. Mr J. Kerri.sk, junior (retiring president) occupied the chair. Among those present were Messrs S. Thrush and A. R. Elgar, chairman and seci-etary respectively of the Hawera district Wednesday Gomeptition [Management Committee. “I am sorry I am not able to congratulate the team on having won the shield, but at the same time I can congratulate its members upon its performanoes.” said the president in a brief review of the season’s activities. “You played some good football, paut-i----cular’v the younger exponents', and it was owing only to lack of practice that vou did not get a higher place in the ladder. You all know that the winning team was as fit as the proverbial fiddle, and I think it is up to the Mokoia-OhamgaL team to train and endeavour to reach an equal standard in the coming season. OLDEST PLAYER’S SUCCESS. “I am -very pleased that the oldest player in the Wednesday competition last year, Air N. Lee/ or our club, secured the medal donated by Air R. D. Wilson, of Hawera, for the best man wearing football togs over a hundred yards dash.” The finances: -were in a slightly better state than at the beginning of the season. The principal item of revenue was subscriptions amounting to £9 11s. Gate receints totalled £1 13s 6cl. Hall hire entailed the expenditure of £4 10s. On th© motion of Mr S. J.
