The resolution of the Motor U nion protesting at- heavy taxation was deprecated by the Hon. A. D. McLeod when speaking at Raglan on Saturday. He said that he would like Mr. M.'anton to l see the difficulties of settlers, and he would not object to a small payment for the support of the man on the land. He condemned the attitude of the men who sit in offices and dictate to the Government and refuse to see the conditions of the men in the backhlocks.
