PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ RUGBY
CENTRA!/ EXECUTIVE MEETING. BAY GY SCHOLARSHIP CONTROL. A meeting of the central executive of the Primary Schools’ Rugby Union was held at Stratford on Saturday. Present: Messrs. W. H. Burgess, A. E. Mills, C. Drader, I<\ A. Bruce. G. Percy and V. J. Henderson, (hon secretary). In the absence of the pre sident, Mr. A. D. Train, Air. W. IT Burgess was elected to the chair. The annual report and balance-sheet was approved for submission to the Taranaki Rugby Union. It was* proposed that the' secretary forward 7 to the T.R.U. the following resolution regarding the Bayly Memorial Scholarship: “That in connection with the non-notification - of certain •schools elegibile to compete in the Bayly Memorial Scholarship, the executive of the' schools’ union wishes to state that it- followed the usual form of procedure in the organisation of the .sports, and the fact that certain schools were not notified was no fault of the -schools’ union.” The secretary was instructed to ascertain who was responsible for sending out the notices, and also what the position was with regard to the control exercised by the T.R.U and the Education Bard over the Bayly Scholarship. The following recommendations were drafted for the incoming committee: —That the rules for the Bayly Memorial Scholarship be- revised; that the sports meeting .for the schools lie held at Eltham in 1928, rind that it he controlled by the southern division ; that the competitors and officials in the scholarship be entertained at lunch l>v the central executive. The following notice of motion to amend the constitution was forwarded to the north and south divisions for consideration: That the central executive appoint one of its members as delegate to the management committee of the T.R.U. —News.
