FRASER ROAD FOOTBALL CLUB
ANNUAI; MEETING
Tin* annual meeting of the Fraser Road Football Club was- held last evening Mr. J. Moller presiding over a large meeting of member®. In presenting the report, the chairman congratulated- the- members on the last season’s activities- and -tated that there was a very encouraging credit balance which would enable the club to achieve better results during the forthcoming season. It reflected great credit, said Mr. H. Thrush, on the members, the way they had- responded and pulled together. There had been orny two members- who were not finanial. The matter pf selected players notifying the selector of their avail Unity or otherwise-was- a point strewed by the selector in view of the scattered district. Last year there lid been considerable difficulty in this connection. The- following officers were elected:—President, Mr. J. (leelected), vice president Mr. W. ,T. Metcalf (re-elected); secretary, Mr. A. Thrush (re-elected); seleciois, Messrs. P. Korau, S. Panenui and H. Thrush; club captain, Mr. P. Korau; delegates to the Wednesday Union, Mr. H. Thrush. It was decided not to elect a committee-. Instead all members woe to attend meetings to transact basinets. Owing to Mr. Johnston’s tie; :non to use for crops the paddock in which the club had played matches last year, it was decided to approach Mr. Gibs-on for the use of his ield. Tins was well sheltered and convenient. That club players playing m tl e Taranaki Maori Rugby matches in-set the "Wednesday competition and depleted the Fraser R-aod team w«s a complaint made by Mr. Thrush. The difficulty seem to he that a- -lumber cf players were selected for the Maori game to the prejudice of the c-iub games. Mr. Panenui, a member of the r anagement committee, said he would endeavour to arrange- matters this year so the games, whe v e p visible, would fall on days- when Fraser Read had a bye. / In regard to a gold medal presented by Mr. R. T. Fuller late last season, was decided to allocate it by selection -ommittoo at the end of the season to whomever it thought fit. Unanimous support was given an appeal by the Hawera Amateur Athletic Club for the Olympic Games fund, lit was decided' to make a donation.
The annual subscription was fixed at 6s.
Thanks were expressed to Mr. Newell for the use- of his paddock last year for practices. The first preface was .set down for Wednesday.
