A proposal for the union -of Canada and Newfoundland was endorsed in the Senate to-day. Senator C. E. Capper, who- introduced the resolution, statedthat the time was favourable to consider such a union. He said ho would like to entertain the vision when not only Newfoundland, but the West Indies and all units of the Empire on this side of the Atlantic would -be consolidated into one great Dominion. Senators agreed that the offer must come from Newfoundland.
