For the past season income shows an excess over expenditure of £8 12s 7d, -which, considering the small membership and improvements carried out, is highly satisfactory. Work ha® already been commenced on the links, and particular attention is being given to the greens. The links will remain the same, as for last year, and' it is hoped that au increased membership will enable further improvements to be carried out.”
Hie election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Hon. O. J. Haw ken; president, Mr. A. J. Hannah; vicepresidents, Messrs. W. M. Smith, E. Burke, G. Meuli and A. Oxley; committee (on the motion of Messrs. Paterson and Ryan, it was resolved that the committee be the same as last year) ; ground committee, Mr. A. J. Hannah and Dr. Davies; secretary and treasurer, Mr. G. Meuli; club captain, Mr. N. selection and match committee, Dr. Davies, Messrs. G. Meuli, the president and captain; ladies’ committee, Mesdames G. Meuli. A. H. .Christie (secretary!, Paterson, MacLeod, Misses Mead, Clague and Armitage.
\ew members elected were: Rev. Mr. Miller, Mr. W. Rourke, and Miss It was resolved that the club affiliate with the New Zealand Golf Union. . . The subscription was- fixed at the same as previously. Dr. Davies, and Mr. G. Meuli very generously donated trophies, and a hearty vote of thanks wa,s accorded to the donors. _ Votes of thanks were accorded- to the outgoing officers and the ladies’ committee, the Press, and Mr. A. G. Bennett for his office for the meetings of the club. TENNIS. AND CROQUET. CLOSING OF COURTS. There were quite a. number, of players present at the closing the tennis and croquet courts on Wednesday afternoon, when the president (Mr. L. Smith) declared the courts closed and presented the trophies to the various winners. He also congratulated the Manaia croquet players on their success at the Hawera tournament and Mrs. McKay, on entering the semifinal in the Dominion tournament. The following trophies were presented : .
Tennis. —Ladies’ championship singles, Bliss Hill; ladies’ handicap singles’ Bliss Hilles; men’s championship singles, L. Smith; men’s handicap singles, F. Oxley; Hammonds Oup, Bliss Clague and S. Blair. Croquet. —Trophies donated by Bins. BlcTvor, Bliss Stoddart and Mrs. Armitage: junior championship (trophy donated by Bliss Stoddart), Blrs. R. S. F. Craig.
