Mr. F. T. It ay lias returned to Paten from Nelson, where lie attended the Municipal Conference. Mrs. W. Boyle has returned after a holiday spent' in Rotorua, and Auckland. . . . Mrs. J. Boyle is at present visiting friends in Taihape. Miss I>. Pitkothly, of Auckland, is at* present visiting Pa tea- as the guest of Mrs.. W. Boyle. ' Rev. Father E. O’Connor, of Inlaw puna, is at present visiting Opunakc. Mr. and Mrs: D. Finlay left by the mail train <m Tuesday, on route for Rakaia, where Mr. Finlay has been appointed station master. RIFLE SHOOTING. NEILSON TROPHY. The shoot, for the Neilsou trophy commenced on Saturday at i?(M> and 1300 yards. Following are the scores: Rifleman Gilbert 100 Rifleman Carmichael 991 Rifleman White* 98:1 President Palmer 97 £ Rifleman Huston 971 Rifleman Roots 97 i Rifleman Willis 95-J Den. Pres. C.
