In consequence of th e refusal of employees to work under the bonus system, the Government has decided to close the Walsh Island works on Friday next, rendering idle 900 workmen. Only a small skeleton of' the staff will be retained for ship repairs and mainten-
ance. The Government will later consider the sale of the establishment with the existing contracts.
