HAWERA ATHLETIC CLUB

SPECIAL MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A special meeting of the executive of the llawera Amateur Athletic 'Club was held last evening, when the following members were present: Messrs A. Spragg (president), L. Marter, C. Dahl, F. Guv, F. Fodcn, H. L. Spratt, R. Foy, Iv. McNac, M. R. Jones, and G. Collins (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs .1. J. Goodwin and A. Grant.

Correspondence and circulars were received from the New Zealand Olympic Association appealing for funds towards defraying expenses of members of the Olympic team. It was decided: That this meeting support the New Zealand Olympic Council in its apepal for funds for the Olympic team; that all the various sporting bodies and associations in the district from Stratford down be circularised by the secretary for either a benefit performance or a straight-out donation; and that the secretary communicate with the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club with a view to there being no overlapping in the Taranaki district in supporting the Olympic Council.

It was also decided that every member of the committee have a list for a personal canvas for funds (such money to be used as the committee may direct). A donation of £ls was voted towards the Olympic fund.
