“SEASIDE FROLICS.”

SUCCESSFUL PFjBFOBMANCE AT MAN AI A. A crowded house and an enthusiastic audience greeted the Hawera. amateurs in the popular revue “Seaside Frolics,” who gave a performance at the Manaia Town Hall last night. All the members of the company were in good form, and the whole show went with a line swing that drew much hearty applause from the audience. In consequence every number and every “turn” was encored. Previous to the performance the Manaia Brass Band played a much apprejiated series of selections outside the hall. The takings reached nearly £3O, which must be considered very good. At the conclusion Mr, Fox, on behalf of the company, expressed thanks .or the welcome by the band and the reception by the people generally. He said he hoped that at some future date they would have an opportunity to return the compliment. After the show the ladies of Manaia provided a light supper, which was much enjoyed by the members. A request was made for a return visit. On Wednesday next the performers will be entertained by the. committee at a dance in the Winter Show Hall, in appreciation of their work. Special mention has been made on several occasions of the energy and initiative of Mrs. Mcßeth, who organised and produced the revue.
