DUTIES INCREASED. 0* Kl.» -PRESS KSbOCIATION—COPT HIGH* Received 9.50 a.m. to-day_ LONDON, March 7. • The Berlin correspondent' of “The Times” reports. “Germany will denounce the Anglo-German trade treaty at the earliest possible date, with the view of securing a fresh basis for trade,” said Herr Curtius, Minister .of Economic Affairs, and agreeing with deputies who were criticising the British attitude. The correspondent explains that Herr Curtius was referring to the increase in British safeguarding duties and the extension of the merchandise marks regulations since treaty was negotiated in 1924, when Britain was virtually free trade. Germans now complain that they granted Britain the most favoured nation treatment for nothing, and declare that complaints have been useless. The treaty cannot be denounced until 1929. —“Times.”
