PERSONAL ITEMS.

Miss J. Slattery, formerly a member of the teaching staff of the Hawera Main School, has returned from a trip abroad, and is at present the guest of Mrs E. Long, of Manaia. Air. Leslie Sinclair, representative of -J. C. Williamson, Ltd., was in Hawera to-day arranging for the presentation at the Opera House to-night of the chimpanzee vaudeville act. Mr. R. E. Taylor, auditor of the Bank of New South Wales, is at present on a business trip to Hawera. During hi® stay Air. Taylor is a guest at the Central Hotel.

Mr. It. Mortlock left by the mail train this morning for Wellington on a' short business trip.

Messrs. A. G. Mallett and I. Marbrook, members of the Audit Department are at present in Hawera and are staying a-t the Central Hotel.
