ACTION AT LAW FAILS. CHIEF JUSTICE’S COMMENT. LONDON 1 , Feb. 13. The Chief Justice, Lord Hewart, Mr. Justice Avory, and Mr. Justice Rrani unanimously decided in favour ol the “Daily Mail” when Jacob Factor charged the. paper with ,contempt ot Court in publishing an article declaring that the “Mail” would not he muzzled u»’ Factor’s writ for libel., Last year the “Mail” revealed an amazing series of alleged swindles by '’’actor, who was formerly a New York barber, and the leader of the “collar” audits, who. it is said, made big haul? by selling bogus oil shares. ’.ord Hewart said that if half of what :' e “Mail” had said about Factor was + rue, it was for the public’s benefit that Iris unmasking should not he delayed.
