CAPITAL OF £3,000,000. NORTHCLIFFE CHAIN. LONDON, Feb. 18. Lord Rothermere, the famous newspaper proprietor, iu an article in the “Lady Mail,” discloses the immediate launching of ‘‘the most important scheme of newspaper expansion ever established in Great Britain,” namely; Northcliffe Newspapers, Limited. The capital will be £3,000,000. with a provision to increase it to £5,000,000. The new company will be guranateed by Associated Newspapers;, Ltd., and will publish up-to-date evening newspapers, probably in Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Bristol, and possibly in’ Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Liverpool, Sheffield, Hull, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Leicester, and Cardiff. The most modern editorial offices will be built upon a central site in each city • The papers will contain little of politics, and no party politics. They will be tied to no party, but will maintain their independence and regard for deeper national interests.
