HAWERA TRACK NOTES

The reversion to standard time has been welcomed heartily by Hawera trainers, these early risers having been considerably inconvenienced the last two or three weeks.
At the course this morning the rain had made the plough track uiiAvorkable and all fast Avork was done, on the trial i grass track, AA'hieh Avas in very fair order, as the times put up Avill shoAA\ C. Jackson started operations by galloping Benaora and Partaga over Jive furlongs. Benzora Avcnt Avell, running out the journey in 1.2 3-5. Glongariff and Bisox Averc companions in a try-out. Starting from tiio mile post they Avont at three-quart or pace to the six furlong peg, when the pace Avas clapped on. Bisox finished best, running the six furlongs .in 1.21 3-5. ’ 'Corneroff did a round of pace work; and Vivo, Avorking by herself, ran a particularly smart six funoags in J. 13 3-5. iSan Fera AAmrkcd a solid mile, running the last fiA'e furlongs in 1.104. War Flame and Gasnapper ;went together ov T cr four furlongs, Gasnapper being in front at, the finish in 52 l-ssee. 'Orcadcs had the going to nor liking, the sting being avcll out of it, and she finished in front of Paitonu over five furlongs in 1.4 J. Beremoana Avork ed by himself, running his five furlongs in 1.3 J. Lady Cavendish took 52 3-ssec to run her half mile by herself. Whysogne and Mendip sprinted a good half-mile together, Whysogne doing a shade the best in 52sec. Bright Glow Aveut Ai*ell ove.r a round, running from the six furlong post home in 1.20. S-ilvermine finished a neck in front of Orazone after running a circuit, the last three furlongs being done in 40sec. Mountain .Bell and Royal Acre Avert* given smart pace- work. The two-year-olds, Silver Rule and Golden Flo Aver, Av-ere companions over four furlongs. Silver Rule winning comfortably in 524 sec. Lady Desmond AA’orked a round on her own and Avas then joined by Bnrryanda, the pair coming home the last three furlongs in 384 sec. Eika, looking Avell, set out to gallop four furlongs, but ran off the track®at the tAvo furlongs on to- the sand, thus spoiling her effort from a time point of vieAv, and took 54see to- complete- the journey.
Mr. A. Morse had the barrier crewed a.t the secen furlong post and gave a number of two-year-olds some practice at jumping out, among them being Goolmint, Fane, Egeria, Tenacre.
