John Owen (Growth or pleaded guilty at the court to-day to three charges of obtaining an instalment in an economic pension bv means of a false statement that lie had not been in employment for a month. The police stated that during the period that pensions had been drawn the accused had earned £52 in wages.

Th.e registrar said that the case was brought as a warning to others. >. _ The magistrate said that it was impossible t'O take a light view of the matter. It was a clear case and had been persisted in for over three months.' The accused was sentenced to 14 days imprisonment on each charge, sentence to be concurrent.
