BOWLING.

The Haw ken -stars- were won by Pihama on Wednesday on the Manaia green, the local team being defeated bv 22 to 17. The winning team were Hanrop, Tito, Nielson, Julian, and the Manaia rink were Bad-ley, I-nness, Johnson, H. Christie.

An inter-club match, took place at Pihama green at the week-end between Auroa and the local club, Auroa eventually proving the winners. After the game Mr F. Julian presented the Fox Shield to Auroa- Club, who are .the winners of the Western Division in the Banner competitions ,which win also entitles them to the Fox Shield. In a-skino- the president of the Auroa Club to accept the shield, Mr Julian said that no one begrudged Auroa their win, and he hoped that they would go on and eventually win the Taranaki championship. Pihama had held the Fox Shield for many years, and he thought it was a good thing to poe the shield, go round.
