Representative -Sirovich, a vim is. a physician, stirred both the prohibition and anti-prohibition forces in the House of Representatives to a white heat with a speech denouncing the use of poison as a denatura-n-t -in -industrial alcohol. He said there are substitutes fchfl.t are not. a, menace to health, and thousands die or are blinded by bootleg liquor loaded with poison which is prescribed 'by the Government. The “dries” prevented Mr Sirovich handing around bottles containing compounds Avhich he claimed could be used instead of poison for denaturing.
