PERSONAL ITEMS.

After an absence of a year and nine months, spent mostly at the Royal Air Force base and at Calshot, in the south of England, Capt. L. W. Isitt,, director of the New Zealand Air Force, returned to-day by the Niagara. He will proceed at once to Wellington to make his official report. The purpose of his visit to England Was to make a sp'ecial study of developments in regard to dj'ing boats and seaplanes with a view to the development of a base at Hobsonville, Auckland. It is understood that Capt. Isitt may eventually be stationed at Auckland, stated a Press Association message from that city.

A London cable message states that Miss Ellen Terry celebrates her 80th birthday on Monday. All newspapers pay a tribute editorially, with the phrase: “We join with the whole world in wishing her many happy returns.’’
