Spirits of turpentine is made from the sap of trees. The sap is drawn from tiie tree much as maple sap is. Distillation causes a thin fluid, which is turpentine, to separate from the mass. By a law which has just been brought into force, the Norwegian Government has embarked on the task of protecting herrings under one year old along many hundreds of miles of coast line.
