SHEEP DOG TRIALS.
TUTUTAWA MEEITIN G. GOOD' WORK SHOWN The success of the annual trials of the Tututawa Punewhakau Club, which were begun yesterday were undoubted, and was* largely due to the fine work of Mr L>. Bunn (president) add committee and the secretary, Mr L. "Walker. The course was in good order and the meeting attracted many of the best dogs of the province. Mr J. Lind (Ararata) was judge and gave every satisfaction. The organising committee consisted of Messrs M. Symes, El. Ure, J. B. Norris, 1. Godkin, and A. Johnstone. Results for the first day were as below : GLASS 1, LOCAL; head 300; yards, pull to ring and ring to satisfaction of judge; time allowed 10 minutes. Points: Heading 17, pull 17, ring 4, command 12, total 50. First prize, the Cooper Cup valued at LIO 10s. Tj. Bunn’s Soot.tie, 13, 15, I, S> points total 41 1 A. J. Holley’s Rogue, 14, 13, 2, S points, total 37 - NOVICE HOGS, In the game class an event was included for novice dogs, the first prize bellin’ Bellringer Bros.’ silver biscuit barrel valued'at £4 4s and £3 in cash; second, Baker and Company’s pair ol spurs and pair of reins and £2 in cash; third, £l. Les. Bunn’s Flos, 12, 14, 2, 8 points total 36 1 D. Johnston’s Gip, 15, ,13, 1 6 points total 35 - N. Hayes’ Star, 9, 15, 1, 8 points, total 33 There were 12 entries. The meeting was concluded to-day.
