GOOD WOOL PRICES.
FIGURES AT AUCKLAND AUCTION
VERY KEEN COMPETITION,
I BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.j AUCKLAND 1 , Feb. 21. The Auckland wool sale ended to-day with most satisfactory results, the range of prices being as follows:
The catalogue figures showed an advance over the Auckland sale in November in consonance with the general firming of the market which has since taken place, crossbreds being from l-jcl to 2d per pound dearer, and wools from 50’s quality and upwards, 3d to 4d per lb. advance.
The peak price last evening, and there were a few which caused astonishment even to buyers, was 25}d for five bales of lambs’: wool, but there were other lots of a similar description which drew down the hammer at 23d and other figures which attested a wool hungry world. A small Southdown clip sold at 24d, six bales of Corriedale at 24} d, 16 bales of fine crossbred at 20Jd, four bales of Shropshire at 21}d, a. lino of half-bred at 20} d, some Corriedale hogget wool at 23d, and some super hogget at 21}d. To-day fine halfbred brought as high as 28}d.
