“T cannot imagine a school picnic without a few lollies.” remarked a member of the Auckland Education Board yetserday, when a letter was received from the Director of Dental Hygiene deprecating the practice of the distribution to children of manufactured, concentrated sugar in the form of sweets and highly-sweetened cakes at school break-ups, orcnies and parties. A lpquest that the matter should bo brought under the nowce of the school committees in order to prevent great harm being done to the health of children wais agreed upo.n.
