DUKE OF YORK PAYS TRIBUTE TO ITS FOUNDER.

A Royal tribute was paid to the Salvation Army when the Duke and Duchess of York drove to Clapton anud thousands of cheering people to attend an Army composers’ festival. In the course of his speech at the function the Duke of York said: "Band music is martial, cheering and inspiring. Your founder’s life was a -story of ceaseless self-sacrifice and a .glorious chapter in the history of the Empire. He was a real leader with sympathy, personality and ideals. The Army is nobly carrying on its great traditions.”
