DISPOSAL OF WHEY.
DECISION OF WHENUAKURA SUPPLIERS. A meeting of milk suppliers to the W henna kura Co-op. Dairy Company was held in the WhenuakuraPublic Hall the other day, to consider proposals put: forward by Dr. Harding, representing Whey Development, ,'Ltd., London, to purchase they whey front this factory. In the absence of Dr. Harding Mr. F. Parsons, who presided, fully explained the proposals and moved that in the event of a satisfactory agreement for the purchase of whey being arrived at between representatives of the dairy companies and Dr. Harding at the meeting to be held in Ha went on the loth inst., the suppliers of milk to this company agree to sell the:r whey. Mr. Back advised caution, remarking that the scheme was very young, and thought they should wait until they had further knowledge on the subject. . ■ Mr. Knowles said he would like to know a little more about the scheme before committing himself. Naturally there would be penalties provided for breaches in the event of failure to supply at any time or if the quantity was less than that agreed upon. Further, he thought if Dr. Harding was willing to guarantee a farthing pet gallon for the whey there must be something good in the scheme, more than just interest on capital. The chairman stated that a company could change over from cheese to butter at any time without incurring any penalty fmr -failure to supply whey.— ‘ 1 Press. ’ ’
