WESTERN ASSOCIATION COMPETITION. This year less interest has been taken with tennis in both matches and practice by most of the westeni clubs. Consequently but one round of the shield matches- have . been played, though now the haymaking' .and flush of the milking season are passed more interest is reviving and possibly the second- round fixtures will soon commence. The present position of the competing clubs is as follows: Otakeho, played three, won three. Eiverlen, played three, won one. Pihama, played three, won one. Auroa, played, three, won one. Otakeho thus promises to lie the winners for this season.—From our Auroa Correspondent.
