ACCIDENTS AND FATALITY
DEATH BY GAS POISONING. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.' CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 7. A verdict, that death was due to suicide caused by asphyxiation from gas poisoning was returned by the coroner, Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., at the inquest upon Henry Harris, 46 .ears of age, a tally clerk, who was found dead last night in a whare at Cambridge Terrace. Puzzled because she had not seen Harris that day, the owner of the whare in which Harris lived opened the door and looked in. She found Harris ying dead and called the police The • :ody was reclining on a wicker chair beside a shelf on which was a gas stove. Tne gas was turned on and the windows and doors closed. The man had been dead several hours.
MAORI BOY DROWNED. WAIROA, Feb 7. A Maori lad, eight- years of age. named Johnny Kaimonna, was drowned at flic North Clyde wharf about five o’clock this evening. Dragging operations have failed to locate the body.
