CHANGE OF NAME. DUKE OF YORK’S PROPOSAL. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Jan. 27. Writing to the National Safety First Association, the Duke of York stated that his attitude had apparently been misunderstood. He did not wish to impose his views upon the association ; lie only wished to point out that the title was detrimental while people refused to assist the association on the ground that its title was not in accord with British courage and sportsmanship. He was, however, prepared to abide the association’s decisionThe. meeting decided to consider alternative titles .at the association s annual meeting in April.
