The silver cups presented by Messrs L. A. Bone and J. G. Osborne to the Hawera Fire Brigade for competition among its members are now on: view in Messrs Purser Bros.’ (hairdressers) window. Mr Bone’s trophy, which is allotted; to the squad competitions, is a handsome cup, massive in design, and is tho work of Walker and Hall, England. Mr Osborne’s cup, although not so large as the former, is also an excellent example of the silversmith’s art. The first of the competitions is sc't. down for next Wednesday, when the Osborne Cup will be-competed for.
