The New Zealand Loan and .Merear tile Agency Company, Ltd.' report: — The .second wool sale of the 1927-2 series was held in Wanganui on 1' rid a, night, when a total ottering of 25,09 bales was submitted, of whicii our cata lugue coinpr sed 4029 bales. There was a very full bench of buy cr.s representing the United Kingdom America, the Continent, local mills aiv scourers, who all competed -keenly froi: the eommencement until the last lo was submitted for all lots suitable io their var.ous requirements, with th result that excellent prices were real Led, am! vendors must feel liigltl, gratified with the prices. The woe opened up in good condition, hut uu fortunately many of the clips contain ed a lot of seed, which of course, niili fated against them. One nice lost of supo hoggets branded TE KOTO made 24d A nice lot of half-bred wool under th brand of RTB/AIAO-W HAN GO, real i.sed 24d. the B grading making 223 d Lambs’ wool when picked over ant free from seed also realised splendit prices, one lot branded LY/PUR3R making 24d, and another lot brandet MD/TATIRIMU making 233 d. Competition from Bradford and Con tinental buyers for all lots suitable fo: their requirements was very spiritet and well sustained, and for lambs’ woo French and Australian buyers wouk not be denied, and prices, as comp a ret with Napier sales, were from par to ; shade 1 inner. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report: Our quota was 266(1 bales. We o(H:ncd the sale at 4 p.m. before a large and eager bench of buyers’, and as was anticipated the market was very firm at rates lately established at Wellington and Napier. Our catalogue was mostly made up of good to medium Bradford top-making wools, and as far as the sale has gone—considering quality and condition —prices for low and medium wools show, a rise of about- id per lb on last Wellington sale, with all other qualities at par. Buying was well spread. All sections of the trade was keenly interested. Bradford was well in the market for all top-making wools, with Germany keen buyers for similar wools. and also for carding sorts. France and Australia competed spiritedly for the best lambs, and prices for this class of wool were at the moment high. Growers generally must be well pleased with realisations made, and it- seems that prices now established may remain firm throughout the selling year. We sold practically our total offering at auction.
