STORES IN AUSTRALIA. PRODUCERS’ COMPLAINT. EY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION— COPY BIGHT. Received 12.10 p.m. to-day. MELBOURNE, Jan. 21. In reply to a deputation representing the producers, the Minister of Markets (Mr. Paterson) said the matter of tariff and reciprocal arrangements with New Zealand concerning importation of New Zealand butter to Australia was under consideration by the Cabinet. It was probable that the Minister would proceed to the Dominion at an early date to confer with the New Zealand Ministry on the matter. . ’ The deputation said that dairy fanners throughout Australia were concerned about prospective importations by speculators of New Zealand butter. The increased duty come into operation on June 15. Already there was New Zealand, butter in cool stores in Australia waiting sale at. prices below those ruling for Australian butter.
