WHITE NILE BRIDGE.
KHARTOUM TO OAIDURAIAN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Jan, 15. Another step in the development of the Sudan is marked by the announcement that a new bridge over the White Nile, connecting Khartoum and Onidurmau for foot passengers, vehicular traffic and electric trams, will be opened to-morrow. The bridge, which consists of seven spans, each 244 feet long, and an electrically operated' swing span 304 feet long, lies across the White. Nile at its junction with the Blue Nile. The roadway is 30 feet wide, and provision has been made for two footpaths, each 11 feet wide, which can be carried on brackets when the volume of traffic justifies enlargement.
