FASCISTS’ REPRISALS
LEAGUE OF YOUTH.
EXHIBITION WRECKED
PROTEST AGAINST SOVIET.
BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION— CGPYRi-.-fIT BRUSSELS, Jan. 12.
A gang of several scores of Fascists invaded the Soviet exhibition. The leader blew a whistle and a portion of the gang pinned the attendants, while file remainder started wrecking the exhibition.
Lenin's bust was the first thing smashed, while the busts of other Soviet leaders crashed to the floor. Paintings wore cut with knives, and tables, draperies and windows were destroyed. Confusion reigned and amid cries of “Down with the Soviets!” mirrors and vases were broken and books torn up.
The wreckers explained that they belonged to the League of National Youth and had organised the raid as a protest, against the lying descriptions of an ideal ‘Soviet state and revolting pictures dealing with Russia under the Tsars.
