SEAMEN'S DISPUTE:
ATTITUDE OF OWNERS
AWAITING DEVELOPMENTS

No later development has occurred in regard to the seamen’s dispute, it is feared, however, the trouble will extend to other ships at tho week-end. Melbourne steamship owners concerned in the seamen’s dispute state they have done all iu their power to keep trade going, but they are not prepared to allow the law to stand in alley ance and place themselves at the mercy of the men. Considering the next move should come from tho seamen, they have decided to leave the vessels where the men abandoned them and await developments. They add that since- January of last year vessels were delayed on no fewer than 111 occasions through actions of members of the Seamen s Union.
