LEOPARD ESCAPES.

BABY STROKES. IT. f LONDON SUBURB THRILLED. LONDON, Dec. 27. A leopard escaped from an animal dealer’s shop in Camden Town last night. The escape was only discovered this morning, when, it led to a widespread search by ’the owner, police and civilians, all of whom carried 1 nets, Tiie police traversed the district, warning mothers to keep their children in. Meanwhile, the leopard wandered into the backyard of Mr. Pizer’s bouse in Park Street. Leslie Pizer, who was playing in the garden, thought it was “a big cat,” and stroked it. But the leopard growled, and the growl reached his mother’s ears. The mother, puzzled, snatched the baby away, because she did not know the strange animal. The owner, G. Palmer, arrived and claimed the animal, saying: “This is my leopard!” The leopard then made a passage through the bouse. Mrs. Pizer collapsed. while Mr. Pizer flung a sack over the leopard’s heard. The animal was then restored io the shop. ■s _
