Tenderers must provide a satisfactory gaurautee that they will maintain the vessels on the British register ami conduct the service equal to the present for a period of ten years, making at least 18 round voyages year, preference will be given to otters containing proposals for safeguarding Australian exporters and importers regarding freight rates. Shipping circles consider that the insistence on the maintenance of the service for 10 years may debar possible tenderers, as they are unlikely to bind themselves down to such a lengthy period to maintain a service which may result in a Joss.
