NORMANBY.
HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) There was a fair attendance at the Meeting of the Normanby Horticultural Society held last night, when the president, Rev. H. J. Fletcher, occupied the chair. Mesdames Meuli and Fletcher, _ who had been asked to revise the miscellaneous section, handed in their report. This was considered very satisfactory, new classes being substituted which will bring the whole section up to date. Special prizes w r hich have been donated were allotted to the various sections. Others which have not yet come to hand will be allotted by the executive committee. The following ladies and gentlemen rto to be thanked for their donations: Messrs G. H. Mills, J. Howe-Giles, Burgess, Fraser and Co., Hodder and Tolley, Levin and Co., Hawera Electric Light C'o.,: Welsh, McCarthy, Beechey and Houston, Blairs Ltd., W. Moss, C. C. Rasmussen, F. Cooper Ltd,, Duncan and Davies, Te Aro Seed Co., C. O, Ek- 1 dahl, Bennett and Sutton, Fletcher, j Humphries and Co.-, Hon. O. J. Hawken,! A. E. Linn, W. Hair, J. Meuli, Mathie- j son and Roberts, Yates and Co., Ha- j wera Gas Co., Galloway and Sons, J. A. Arebbold, C. Coxhead, B. C. Gibson and Mesdames A. Morse, J. Meuli and J. T. Allen. Xt was decided to hold the show on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 13 and 14, instead of March 6 and 7, so as not to clash with New Plymouth Show. _ The question of including a section for pigs at the forthcoming show was discussed, and it was finally decided to ndd these classes to the schedule. Mr S. Poulsen offered to supervise this section.
It was decided that a meeting of ladies be called for next Friday afternoon, January G, at 2.30 p.m., to arrange for the catering, etc.
