Air Philip Snowden has resigned liis membership of the Independent Labour Party, to which he had belonged for 34 years, in a letter to the secretary he says: “The Labour Party, since it has permitted individual membership and has adopted a Socialist basis, adequately fulfils the purposes for which the Independent Labour Party originally existed. The hitter has served its purpose, and its continued existence is neithher necessary nor useful, and involves a waste ot money and effort.”
