When it became known that three ■priests and seven sisters were held captive in the vicinity of Biers Bay, the British warship Seraph proceeded to the scene and a lauding party under the white flag requested their release, which, after lengthy negotiations, - was effected.
The priests and sisters say .that they suffered great indignities and were several times threatened with execution.—“ Sydney Sun” cable.
