Air. A. W. Tugwell, of Hawera, was a passenger on tlie south express this morning. He is proceeding on a holiday visit to Waikanae, and will later travel to Auckland.
Air. and Airs. Basil Crocker, of Wellington, and party arrived in Hawera last evening, and wei-e among the guests at the Central Hotel They left to-day to visit Dawson Fall’s, and will proceed later to Now Plymouth.
Colonel A. B. Carmichael, officer in charge of the Central, North and Taranaki divisions of the Salvation Army, arrived in Hawera last evening on his annual inspection. He leaves tc-day for Eltham.
The "death of Air J. Blair Alason, harbour engineer, aged #7O, years, is reported in a Press Association message from Auckland. Tlli/e late Air Blair Alason was for some time consulting engineer to -the New Plymouth Harbour Board. He ha® also acted, in a similar capacity to other harbour boards throughout. New Zealand.
